New Toy

I heard about the Eye-Fi Card on one of my favorite websites, Make. After reading about it I decided I had to get one! Basically it's a 2G SD card for you camera with built in wi-fi capability. I love taking pictures, but I hate having to plug in the camera afterwards and upload the pictures to my computer and then upload them to websites or blogs. The Eye-Fi card does all of that for you automatically. You can set it up to put your pictures wherever you want on your computer and Eye-Fi is supported by tons of online photo sites (Piccasa, SnapFish, Costco.com, Flickr, etc) and you can set it up to upload your pictures to these sites automatically. One small downside is that you can only select one of these websites at a time. You can set up multiple profiles for different sites, but only one can be used at a time. You have to have your computer and camera on for them to sync. If you are out taking a bunch of pictures somewhere, when you get home all you have to do is turn your computer and camera on and all your pictures will be uploaded automatically. I bought mine on Costco.com for about $90 and I think that it will definitely be worth the price.

The Prophets Passing

President Hinckley was the sweetest man and did so much for our church.
It was so sad to hear of his passing last night and to realize that he would no longer smile at us from behind the pulpit in April's Conference.
My sweet little Harrison will never know this great man. I hope that I'll be able to share with him my thoughts and feelings about him, and read to him wonderful talks he has given and tell him about the great things he as done for us and the church.
Sometimes prophets seem immortal that they will be around for ever, but they too have a time and God knows that his work was through and now he will choose a new mouth piece.
President Hinckley was a wonderful leader and we will remember and miss him greatly!

Josh is back to work

Josh went back to work full time today. Harrison and I have been home together just the two of us. I was thinking that it was going to be too overwhelming but we have done pretty well. Josh came home from work for Lunch so we got to have lunch together as a family. That was so great! And our neighbor Becky who has a 2 1/2 month old baby boy stopped by to check on us. That was nice to have a visitor.
I'm sure its just as hard for Josh to go to work after a night of waking up when the baby does and being exhausted.
Every day is a new trial of being a parent but a delight because we have such a sweet and healthy baby boy!

Baby update...

Well it's been almost a week since Harrison was born and our lives changed forever. The first few nights at home were pretty tough and we didn't get much sleep at all. Lately though, Harrison has been sleeping longer which is very nice for us!

Harrison finally got to meet his grandpa on Saturday! My dad has been working in Arkansas and wasn't able to fly home when Harrison was born. He got up early Friday morning to see if he could get on an earlier flight, but no luck. He finally made it to our house Saturday afternoon and then came back Sunday and Monday before heading back to work.

Sabrina is doing well and seems to be recovering really fast. Other than being tired she feels pretty good. It is so much fun to see her with her son! She is going to be such a great mom. As for me, I have just been trying to help out where I can and stay out of the way when I'm not needed. My favorite thing is to talk to Harrison when he is awake and looking around.

Anyway, thanks again to everyone who has come to see us, brought us lunch, dinner and presents, and called. We really appreciate it all!

It's a boy!

The big news today obviously is that our baby was born! Harrison Joshua Green was born at 12:40pm, he weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. He is so cute (as seen in the pictures below...)

It was a surprise to both of us when Sabrina's water broke at about 2:30am on Tuesday morning. Luckily she progressed pretty fast once we got to the hospital and didn't have to push for very long. Anyway, I'm sure you don't care as much about this as you do about seeing pictures so here they are:

This is one of the first pictures we took and it's one of my favorites. This was right after he was cleaned of.
Here are the happy parents!
Here he is getting his first bath. He screamed the whole time!

Mom and baby are doing well and recovering great, both are healthy and happy. Dad is keeping busy taking pictures and holding his new little son.

Thanks to everyone who has come to see us, called, or otherwise supported us! We really appreciate it!

Harrison is Due today!

Well, today has come and about gone.... And not an single sign of the sweet baby.
We have a scheduled induction date. Unless nature takes its course we will go into the hospital on Monday night at 9 p.m. be given cervidil... a hormone to soften my cervix, then if this hormone doesn't start labor then Tuesday morning the Dr. will start me on pitocin to start labor.
So unless this week my body decides to give up the baby Tuesday the 21st of January will be Harrison's birthday.

Come on already!

I used to consider myself to be pretty patient, but there is something about being a few days away from your first baby's due date and not knowing when he is coming that starts to wear your patience down. We have spent the last 40 weeks getting ready for him to come. The last few weeks we have made even more preparations including putting the car seat in the car, packing a bag for the hospital, getting his bed ready and his diapers stocked. COME ON ALREADY! We are as ready as we are going to be at this point, let's do it!

New Baby Stuff

This is one of my new favorite things that we have for our little guy. In case you can't read the picture...the pacifier says "Mute Button"!

Here are some new shirts I made for the baby using freezer paper stencils and screen printing ink. Of course they had to be red! Too bad they will be too big for him to wear to my graduation, I guess I'll have to make some more!

Happy 2008!

The new year was pretty uneventful for us. I have been sick since Christmas so we didn't feel like going out in 3 degree weather and staying up late. We watched "Stardust" and cooked a pizza and then made homemade Coke Slurpees using one of my Christmas presents. We were in bed by 10:00pm. Here are some pictures of the Slurpees:

Here's the machine in action! You just fill up the canister inside with ice and salt and then pour in whatever kind of soda or juice you want.
And here we are enjoying homemade Coke Slurpees!

Christmas 2007

Christmas was pretty nice this year for the Green's. We had a lot of fun spending time with both of our families. We spent Christmas eve in Heber at Sabrina's family's cabin and Christmas morning at our house just the two of us. Christmas day we went to my parent's house and then to Louise's for breakfast. We finished the day off at Gram's. After all was said and done we ate way too much food and got way too many presents. Harrison even got a few! Here are some of the highlights:

Sabrina's mom got us a recumbant exercise bike that we put together downstairs. It will be really nice for Sabrina to be able to get some exercise at home while she watches the baby and it will be really nice for me to sneak in some exercise time without going to the gym.
We also got a Garmin Forerunner that we will both be using for training and racing this coming year. I have several triathlons that I want to do in 2008 and Sabrina wants to run the St. George marathon.
Here's a picture of my cute pregnant wife in front of our Christmas tree!

We hope that everyone had a very merry Christmas and we wish you the best in the new year!
