Princess Harrison

Harrison wanted to make a crown and wings. After we made them and he looked in the mirror he said "Harrison's a Princess!" I have tried to convince him that boys are Princes and girls are Princesses but I think it pretty much sounds the same to him.

Funniest Kid EVER!

Harrison and I have been taking Josh to work in the mornings. This particular morning it was pretty cold and I told Harrison to go get a hat. He grabbed 2 and began putting them both on. I put the jacket on him. He had to bring "strings" (his blanket) a ball and bear with him.

I took this picture of him and when I was getting my phone ready to take the picutre he pulled this super cheesy face.

Smelling the Tulips

This afternoon Harrison and I went to the Tatian Noni gardens in Provo.
They had thousands of tulips and beautiful flowers.

He actually smelled the flowers!


Then he found the secret garden and the path was paved with his favorite.... Rocks!

Harrison Plays in the Snow

With all the snow we got yesterday we thought Harrison might have fun playing outside. After bundling him up in his coat, mittens and hat, we let him loose. Here are some pictures:

We have been thinking that Harrison has been really close to walking for about a month. He has been able to stand by himself for a while and pull himself up on things and use them to get around. He has even been taking a few steps here on his own. I don't know what happened between last night and tonight but tonight he is walking!

I have a happy son!

Harrison is so expressive and I just love to get him to smile. He doesnt giggle much but his smiles are just as good to melt my heart.
I just love that toothless grin from ear to ear.

Happy Halloween from Pocoyo

We had such a fun Halloween getting Harrison dressed up as Pocoyo and taking him trick-or-treating to a few of our neighbors. The best part was the 100% tax we charged on his candy! Josh thought it would be fun to dress Har up like Pocoyo since he looks exactly like him. So I first though i'd try to get Muranda to help me crochet a beanie for the hat part of his costume. She was so great to teach me how, however i was so slow to catch on, it took me 7 or 8 tries to finally get it to resemble a beanie. Then Josh and I went to a few stores to try and find the right color of blue pajamas for the rest of the costume, but we were unsuccessful. Finally we ended up making the pajamas at my moms house and his radio trick-or-treat basket. The costume was a success... if i do say so my self.
We had so much fun Halloween night eating home made pizzas and carmeled apples and candy and taking harrison to a few doors to show him off all with Josh's family.
By the way Pocoyo is a Spanish cartoon. Pocoyo is supposed to be a 3 year old little boy.

Bear Lake

Josh had to go to Bear Lake yesterday for work and invited Harrison and I along. Boy was it a long day of driving but we had fun once we had a little time to hang out.

Josh has been there a few times and i've only been there once. This was Har's first time experiencing a few things.

Happy Birthday to my Sweetie

Happy Birthday Josh!
Harrison and I took Josh out to Eggs in the City for breakfast for his birthday. Josh and to go to Idaho for the Burley Spud Man Triathlon on Saturday. We were not able to go because my niece got married this weekend so since i wouldnt see him much on his birthday we went to breakfast.
Josh just turned 29! Harrison and I love him very much.
While we were out to breakfast we sat Harrison in the booth with us and i noticed that the seats were covered in black leather. I had my camera with us and though it looked like a tincy wincy photo studio.

Harrison is 6 months old!

Harrison is 6 months old and SO much fun. We went to the Dr.'s office today for his check up and the dreaded shots. He did such a great job. He cried while they gave him the shots and then was find after that.
Well it's official we have a very healthy tall and skinny boy.
He weighs 16 1/2 pounds and is 28 1/2 inches tall. He is only in the 30% for weight and has shot up to the 93% for height! My little boy is growing tall but not fat! All the food he's eating must be going to his adorable chubby cheeks.

Utah Summer Games / Harrison's First Swim

Last weekend we made a trip down to Cedar City for the 2008 Summer Games. We went with my parents, my sister Jodi and her husband Bernd.

Harrison actually did pretty well in the car on the way down, but things took a turn for the worse later in the weekend when he decided that he wanted to start waking up in the middle of the night. I had to spend one night on the floor because he would only stay asleep on the bed with Sabrina. He had a hard time taking naps by the pool because of all the cheering and start buzzers. It was nice to have my family there to help take care of him. My dad even took him for a walk every morning.



Jodi and I entered some of the swimming events this year instead of the triathlon. It has been over 10 years since I swam competitively at Viewmont High School. I entered 7 events including the 200M Free, 1500M Free, 400M Free, 50M Fly, 200M IM, 100M Free, and 50M Free. It was so much fun to be swimming again! I wish that I would have trained a little more (I only went swimming twice before we went down). I ended up winning a few medals in my age group and was disqualified from the 200M IM for making an illegal turn (it wouldn't be a real swim meet if I wasn't disqualified from at least one event!). Jodi ended up with a couple medals herself and also had a good time (even though she didn't think she did very well, she did awesome!). I think we have about everyone in my family wanting to participate next year. Sabrina was wishing that she would have entered a few events too.



Swimming in a 50M pool was quite a bit different than swimming in a 25 yard pool. For one, meters are a little longer than yards. Also you didn't get the boost off the wall because there were half as many flip turns.

The highlight of the trip for me was taking Harrison swimming for the first time. I was so excited to get him in the pool that I forgot to put on sunscreen and got a pretty good sunburn. Harrison loved the water even though he was ready for a nap. We even dunked him under the water a couple of times. Other than having water in his face when he came up, he didn't seem to mind being put under the water. I have been looking forward to taking him swimming for so long and I finally got my wish!
