Homemade artwork...

I guess while I'm taking pictures and posting stuff...here are are few homemade pieces of art that are now hanging on our walls. I painted the one with the circles and Sabrina and I both painted the ones with the squares. We kind of needed something to hang over our bed since that wall was totally blank. We saw a similar project on HGTV and decided to make our own. The colors don't show up very well but they are blue, gray, and green. The one with the circles was just kind of freehanded with some colors that I liked.

New Baby Stuff!

So we got our first piece of furniture for the baby tonight...a changing table/dresser. It's kind of hard to tell from the picture but it is a "rubber black" finish. It's basically black with a few edges rubbed off to make it look older. It also has brushed silver hardware. The crib will have the same finish. The bedding we got to go with it is green, brown, and cream and looks pretty nice with the dark wood. One step closer to being ready!

New Baby Stuff...

So we are starting to get some more baby stuff... "Grandma G" gave us some PJ's (of course!) with little froggy feet and a really soft stuffed dog. Grandma J gave us some pants and a bib. We bought one outfit (on the left) and a blanket. We have also ordered a crib, changing, table, and some bedding.

SOLD!

With Sabrina off for a few weeks from school, we finally got our Civic up for sale last night. 24 hours later and it is sold! We ended up getting exactly what we asked for it and were paid in cash and didn't have to mess around with banks. It was a pretty smooth transaction that took place in the parking lot of the Target by Jod and B's house. I posted a couple ads on craigslist and KSL and had a lot of calls. We are planning on putting the money into savings and are planning on using it to make a downpayment on a house in a year or so...

Dual Immersion Academy Grand Opening

Tonight was the ribbon cutting for the new Dual Immersion Academy (DIA), a brand new charter school in Utah. Spanglish Books had a booth there and we got to talk to a lot of the parents of the new students as well as the teachers. Governor Huntsman was there to give a little speech and cut the ribbon. It has been pretty amazing to see the evolution of this school and to see how far it has come. We are excited to see how it works out over the next few years and would like to put our future children in the school. Channel 2 was on the scene as well as other media, so keep an eye out...you might see us!

Se venden libros

Today Josh's company, Spanglish Books, had a book fair at Sabrina's Spanish immersion preschool. It has been so much fun to be able to meet people who are trying to teach their children Spanish and to be able to recommend books to them. It's pretty hard to find used Spanish books, so that's one thing that we really try to keep in stock. We also have a lot of new Bilingual and Spanish-only books. The business is still pretty small, but there is huge potential here in Utah. Check out the website at www.spanglish-books.com.

Dorm Girls Reunion '07

Sabrina and some of her friends from the Dorms at BYU got together for a fun night of catching up in Salt Lake City. It was so good to see all of my old friends. Some I still see regularly some not so often and some not for many, many years!

Hopefully we'll get to keep in touch and not have to wait another 10 years to see each other.
There was Jamie (Williams) Nopper, Rachel (Denning) Smith, Lindsay (Crockette) Severts, Brooke Everett, Marlene (Hansen) Esplin, Andrea (?) Bingham, Becca (Keddington) Parkinson, and Me.

It's a BOY!!

Well, we had our second ultrasound this morning and it is officially a BOY! It was pretty easy to tell since he was laying there with his legs wide open... Everything else looks fine, he is growing fast and the sonographer didn't see any signs of birth deffects or anything. We were both really surprised when she said "boy" because we both really thought that it would be a girl. We are both really excited to be having a little son! It's really nice to be able to say "he" now instead of "it"! The first picture is his "alien face", the second is a profile, and the last two are the pictures she used to tell that it was a boy (you don't have to look hard to tell why...)

Josh is riding the bike!

Echo Resivor Triathalon

Josh did awesome on his first sprint solo triathalon in 2 years.
We had so much fun watching him. We cant wait to see him do a couple more this year.
He has been training really good ever since he finished this race and decided he wants to beat his own record for the next race.

The St. George Team Triathalon

Well this post a bit late but i thought... "Better late than never!"
So Josh and I and the "peanut" did a triathalon in St. George in June.
We had a blast and it was blasting hot!
Josh has done another one by himself since and is planning on doing at least 2 more this year.
Maybe next summer I can do another one while grandma can babysit for us!
